PTE Chess Club

In 2026, the PTE Chess Club will be launched, bringing together students and university staff to test their skills, learn from one another, and build a strong community.

We welcome everyone to the Club who:

•  previously played chess at a competitive level
•  would like to improve their skills and compete in the MEFOB championship
•  enjoys playing chess in a relaxed, informal environment

During the spring semester of 2026, PTE students and staff will have the opportunity to play chess in an organized setting on 10 occasions. Participants may register for individual sessions; however, for those students who wish to represent the University at the MEFOB championship, all sessions will be made available in a club-based format. The sessions will be led by Judit Juhász, Women’s FIDE Master and a student of PTE ETK.

Schedule: Wednesdays, 4:30–6:00 PM
Venue: ETK Room A203
Registration: Participation requires prior online registration, which will be available from February 19 within the event by clicking on the specific date (below).
Per session, registrations from 16 participants can be accepted, excluding MEFOB team members.
Participation in the events is FREE OF CHARGE
