Become a FoodliterACE! Lecture II. - PTE Blue Zone Program

Eating × Sleep – Cortisol, Trends, and Sustainable Choices

Are you tired → or craving food? Do you sleep late → and “snack” all day? It’s no coincidence. Sleep and nutrition influence each other back and forth: your energy levels, focus, appetite, and even how easy it is to make “good choices” on busy days.

In this program on April 23, we’ll discuss in clear and practical terms how you, as a foodie, can make sense of all the advice out there—especially when everyone online seems to be saying something different.

Topics we’ll cover:

  • The connection between nutrition and sleep: what you should (and shouldn’t) eat/drink in the evening to improve sleep quality
  • “Lowering cortisol through eating” – a TikTok trend reality check: what’s overhyped, and what can actually help in your daily life
  • A vegetarian diet as a college student: how to make it nutritious, accessible, and sustainable (beyond just “pasta and cheese”)
  • Sustainability and nutrition: how to eat more environmentally consciously without extremes, using simple steps

Come to our lecture if…

  • You want to sleep better and eat better at the same time, not the other way around,
  • You’re curious about what’s behind the cortisol trend and don’t want to fall for “miracle cures,”
  • You’re considering a vegetarian diet (or already follow one), but want to do it the smart way,
  • Sustainability is important to you, but you’re looking for a solution that fits into college life—our dietetics students will be your greatest help here
  • You don’t want a perfect diet, but a system that works: with small but effective steps.

Become a FoodliterACE yourself: understand what you choose—and choose what works!

The FoodliterACE warmly welcome all PTE citizens—mentors Zsófia Gyócsiné Varga and Viola Keczeli, as well as dietetics students Rozi Kurdi, Maria Shkilionak, Luca Balogh, and Károly Kibédi.
