Dancing University Courses, 2025 Spring semester
You can apply for the courses at our website from February 10 to 16, 2025. The classes start on February 17.
Latin-American dances are really popular nowadays. Their colourful, emotionally strong music is very similar to the Hungarian temper; therefore many students of our country attend these courses.
It contains both standard (English and Viennese waltz, tango, fox trot, quickstep, slow fox) and Latin-American (rumba, samba, cha-cha-cha, jive, paso doble) dances.
It is a dance fitness program that combines moves of different Latin-American dance styles with steps of aerobics to create frenetic atmosphere.
Tempo changes, cardio training, targeting every major muscle group, can shape the body while burning fat and providing excellent recreation for the whole body.
Dance has a very sensual effect due to its close, often body-contact. Bachata is danced all over the world, but not in the same form. The dance is based on three steps with a Cuban hipster movement, followed by a "hip toss" at the fourth step. The knees are slightly bent so that the dancers can rock their hips more easily. Hip movement is very important because it is an indispensable part of this dance's personality.
The aim of the course is to introduce the participants to Southern Slavic culture through folk dance, which reflects the Balkan mentality with its energy and rhythm.
