Where the crane and the tiger become your friends – Qigong for Beginners
Qigong is an ancient Chinese movement and breathing technique consisting of slow, gentle movements. Qigong II focuses on learning the Wu-Qin-Xi and Ba-duan-jin.
Wu-Qin-Xi means five animals qigong exercises. It is a series of physical movements that imitate the actions of five animals: the tiger, deer, bear, monkey (ape) and bird (crane). This classical indoor exercise can help to strengthen the waist, nourish the organs, prevent disease and potentially prolong life.
Ba-duan-jin means "eight sections of precious silk", comparing with eight kind of exercises, through which the practitioners exersise special movements to regulate the breath, mind and body, so as to improve the physical strength, calm down the mind and remove the disorders.
The class is free of charge, but participation is limited. Sessions are held on Tuesdays.
